TOUR DESCRIPTION
Your journey through Bali begins with a one hour-drive to the Mother Temple of Besakih – the biggest, the most iconic and the most meaningful complex of temples on the island. The impressive temple is located on the slope of Agung, the highest volcano of Bali, believed to be a replica of Mt. Meru – a mythical residence of the Hindu God of Shiva.
Next stage – moonland of Kintamani volcano. Created by eruption thousands of years ago. Inside this ancient crater arose yet another volcano – Gunung Batur, which is still active today.
After lunch, a short jaunt to Tirta Empul, a temple built with holy springs and baths flowing continuously throughout the complex. Brahmins and locals from all over the island use this water to perform ceremonies year round. The Balinese believe in the water’s curative and rejuvenating power and, as consequence, take ritual baths here along with prayer.
Your next destination is Gunung Kawi, home to thousand-year-old royal thombs and remains of one of the first Buddhist monasteries on Bali. Let’s go for a short walk through an exceptionally beautiful place, situated in a ravine surrounded by green rice fields. Gunung Kawi is also a perfect spot for the ideal photography session.
It is hard to say that one’s visited Bali if you didn’t go to Ubud, this is why we head over to a small city, centrally located, and recognized as the cultural, spiritual and artistic capital of Bali. Get ready to have an amazing time at an sensational destination! Stroll through the local handicraft market or venture along many shops and boutiques as finding something that catches your eye is fairly easy to do. Upon late evening it’s time to head back to the hotel after a long day through Bali.
